Setting Up Control Launch and Due Dates for Master Controls

Written by Harper Tang

Once your compliance objectives are mapped(entities linked), your controls are activated and drafted. To send out control assessment tasks, you must set the Control Launch Date and Due date.

  1. Access the GRC List:

    • Navigate to the GRC List from the left-hand navigation bar on the main interface.

  2. Open Master Controls:

    • Click on 'Master Controls' to access the list.

  3. Filter Master Controls:

    • Use filters to narrow down your selection based on your needs. Ensure the status of the Master Controls is set to 'Active' and check the option for “Control Launch date not defined.

Note: If you are working within a single Authority Framework, go directly to that Framework on the Dashboard and click the 'Compliance Objectives' tab.

  4. Select Master Controls:

    • Check the checkboxes next to the Master Controls for which you wish to set dates.

  5. Initiate Date Setting:

    • Click 'Action' located in the top right corner.

    • Select “Set Control Launch Date” from the dropdown menu.

  6. Set Dates:

    • In the pop-up window, enter the date to send out your first control task and specify the Due Date.

Setting Control Dates from the Master Controls Page

For a more targeted approach, you can set the Control Launch date and Due Date for each Compliance Objective individually from its dedicated page:

  1. Navigate to the Master Controls:

    • Access the specific Master Controls by navigating the GRC List or by directly accessing the Authority Framework if working within a single framework.

  2. Access Master Controls Details:

    • Once on the Master Controls page, look for the Details tab.

  3. Set Control Launch Date:

    • Under Control Set-up, edit the Control Launch Date. This is when the first control task related to the objective will be initiated.

  4. Define Due Date:

    • Similarly, specify the Due Date for the control task. This is the deadline by which the task should be completed.

Automatic Task Scheduling:

  • The BoardX system will automatically schedule and send subsequent tasks when they are due, based on the Master Controls' set frequency and the Control Launch date you specify.

Task History Maintenance:

  • BoardX maintains a comprehensive history of your control tasks within the Control section, providing a detailed record for auditing and management review.

This procedure ensures that your compliance controls are initiated on time and managed effectively, aligning with the specific timelines and requirements of your organisation’s compliance framework.
