Linking, Unlinking, and Adding New Master Controls to Citations

Written by Harper Tang

After downloading your Authority Framework Content Pack in BoardX, each relevant citation within the framework will be linked to one or more BoardX-recommended Master Controls that could meet your compliance needs.

If these Master Controls do not suit your organisation, or if you require more customised Master Controls, you have the option to link, unlink, or add new Master Controls to different citations.

Linking Existing Master Controls to Citations

  1. Open the Authority Framework: Access this from your Advanced Compliance Workspace Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Citations: Select the 'Citation' tab.

  3. Select a Citation: Choose which citation you want to modify. A side panel will display all the Master Controls currently linked to that citation.

  4. Initiate Linking: Click 'Link'.

  5. Choose Master Controls: Select the existing Master Controls from your system.

  6. Confirm Linking: Click 'Link' to apply the changes.

Unlinking Master Controls from Citations

  1. Open the Authority Framework: Start from your Advanced Compliance Workspace Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Citations: Select the 'Citation' tab.

  3. Select a Citation: Pick the citation you want to update. A side panel will show all linked compliance objectives.

  4. Prepare to Unlink: Check the box next to the Master Controls you wish to remove.

  5. Confirm Unlinking: Click 'Unlink'.

Adding a New Custom Master Control to a Citation

  1. Open the Authority Framework: Go to your Advanced Compliance Workspace Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Citations: Click on the 'Citation' tab.

  3. Select a Citation: Choose the citation you wish to enhance. A side panel will appear showing all linked compliance objectives.

  4. Add New Master Controls: Click the orange '+ New' button.

  5. Enter Details: Provide the necessary information for your new Master Controls.

  6. Save: Click 'Save' to add the new objective to the citation.

These steps enable you to tailor the Master Controls linked to your citations in BoardX, ensuring they align perfectly with your organisational requirements.
