How to Complete a Risk Response Task in BoardX

Written by Harper Tang

Once a Risk Assessment is complete and a Risk Respondent has been assigned, a follow-up Risk Response Task is automatically generated. This task allows the assigned user to provide a formal response plan for managing the risk.

Where to Access the Task

  1. Go to the Task Centre from the left-hand navigation bar.

  2. Look for a task titled “Response strategy for [Risk Name]”.

  3. Click the task to open the response page.

Completing the Risk Response

1. Review the Assessment Results

The top of the page shows how the risk has changed through the assessment:
This gives you insight into whether the controls are helping, and how the risk compares to the appetite.

2. Write Your Risk Response Plan

In the Risk Response Plan section:

  • Type a detailed response plan based on the selected strategy in the Text Editor. (e.g., Mitigate)

  • You can include:

    • Actions to be taken

    • Resources required

    • Deadlines and responsible parties

    • Any contingency or follow-up planning

3. Upload Supporting Files

You can upload up to 10 files, such as:

  • Response documentation

  • Risk treatment plans

  • Training materials

  • Budget plans

Click “Browse” or drag files into the dotted box.

4. Click the Task

Click the “Complete” button in the top-right corner.

📌 Best Practices

  • Be specific: Outline actionable steps and responsible teams

  • Be clear: Use plain language, especially if the plan will be reviewed by board members or non-specialists

  • Be realistic: Ensure timelines and expectations are achievable
