Once you're comfortable with the Control Centre layout and how to complete an assessment, the next thing to learn is how to act on Controls efficiently — both one at a time and in bulk. This article covers the multi-select Actions menu, the per-Control Action button on the right-side panel, and exporting the Controls list itself.

This is article 4 of 4 in the Control Centre series. The earlier articles covered the overview, editing Control details, and completing assessments and approvals.

Step 1: Use bulk actions on multiple Controls

When you need to act on more than one Control at a time, use the checkboxes on the cards.

As soon as you select your first Control, the Export button at the top of the list switches to an Actions button, and a Select all checkbox appears so you can grab everything currently visible in one click.

The Actions menu offers four options.

Send Reminder

Emails the assignee of every selected Control's open assessment or approval task. The recipient gets an email with a button that takes them straight back to the right place.

If you've selected Controls that aren't in Assessment or Approval, you'll see a warning: "The reminders will be sent only to the Control Assessment task assignees and the Assessment Approval task assignees." The other Controls are skipped.

To prevent accidental double-sends, the Send Reminder option is disabled until you refresh the page.

Request Assessment

Launches a new cycle for every selected Control. After confirming, you'll see a Controls Dates modal where you set the Controls Launch date (the start date of the new cycle, today by default) and the Control Assessments due date (when the new cycle is due, 7 days after the launch date by default).

The due date must be after the launch date — if it isn't, the field shows an error, and you can't save until it's fixed.

After saving, the selected Controls move to Assessment status when the launch date arrives, and a success pop-up confirms.

Retired Controls can't be reassessed — they're skipped automatically. If you've only selected Retired Controls, the Request Assessment option is greyed out.

Delete

Soft-deletes the selected Controls. They're recoverable for six months, and you'll be asked to confirm before anything is removed. After deletion, the list returns to its regular state — Export button visible again, Select all unchecked.

Step 2: Use the Action button on a single Control

When you only need to act on one Control, open its right-side panel and use the Action button in the panel header. The button adapts to the Control's status.

For a Draft or Paused Control, the option is Request Assessment. Click it, confirm, and a new cycle launches today, moving the Control to Assessment.

For a Retired Control, Request Assessment is disabled with the tooltip "Control is Retired."

For a Control in Assessment, Approval, or Monitoring, the options are Request Assessment (which restarts the cycle and deletes the previous cycle's tasks) and Pause.

Pausing from a single Control opens the same modal as the bulk Pause flow — Skip next Cycle, Till custom date, or Indefinite in the future. Once paused, the Action button shows a tooltip with the unpause date or "Paused until manual activation."

Next to the Action button, the 3-dot menu has two more options:

Send Reminder. Available when the Control is in Assessment or Approval. Sends the assignee a reminder email and disables itself until the next page refresh.

Delete. Soft-deletes the Control after a confirmation modal. Same six-month recovery window as bulk delete. After deleting, the panel closes and you're returned to the list.
